Simplyirisistible+/

The mare that started the whole thing....  and the love of our lives... Simplyirisistible+/  (A.K.A. The Princess Queen, because one title just isn't sufficient for this horse!)   Anglo-Arabian, 06/15/1990   AA 7685.    Lovingly known as Abby to all of her many friends and fans, this mare has done it all, from team penning to reining, to barrel racing, to western pleasure.  She currently competes at Second level/test one dressage and sport horse mares in hand at both Arabian and Open Horse Shows, and is a four time Top Ten Award Winner and Reserve Champion Training Level Dressage Horse at the US Arabian Sport Horse Nationals. She has also produced 3 exceptional warmblood cross foals, “Smokin' Colt 45” (see below), and the incomparable "Indiannapolis," an Anglo-Arabian daughter of ANNAPOLIS+/.  Horses will come and horses will go, but there will only be one Simplyirisistible+/.  She is simplyirreplaceable

Indiannapolis

Sired by Annapolis+/ and out of Simplyirisistible+, this Anglo-Arabian filly was bred to be a Sport Horse, and has also competed successfully in Main Ring Halter, winning the Pacific Royal Autumn Classic Weanling H/A, Anglo-Arabian Filly Class and Reserve Champion H/A, Anglo-Arabian Junior Mare Class at just 2-months of age. Indy has been imprint trained and handled extensively.  She has a loving and generous personality.

Leila IA

Leila is a Breeders Sweepstakes Breeding Entry Mare by Afriendly Fire out of Legacys Fire.  She is currently working toward a career in dressage as well as motherhood. This mare has extreme movement from the Afire Bey V  and Huckleberry Bey lines, with a very free shoulder and lots of hock action.  She also has a very smooth top line and good angles.  She is truly a lovely mare, 14.3 hands with brilliant metallic copper highlights to her rich mahogany coat.  We were so thrilled with her first colt, Minneannapolis, that we bred her back right away for a June 2009 foal! She has already demonstrated her abilities as a sport horse, placing second between 2 very nice warmbloods in her first outing at Dressage Suitability.

Crystalaffire

Afriendly Fire X AA Crystal Flame

We were fortunate to meet Chris and Sonya Bickford while at the US Sport Horse Nationals in 2006.  They had a 2-year-old filly in their barn that needed a Sport Horse home, and we were looking for a couple of nice mares to show and then breed to Annapolis.  We brought Crystal home around Thanksgiving, in her winter woolies, but looking every bit the noble young lady that she is.  Crystal is a Breeders Sweepstake Breeding Entry mare with a show record in Main Ring Halter and a Championship record in Sport Horse Mares.  She is a lovely mover with a sweet, in your pocket disposition that makes her a favorite everywhere she goes.  We had plans to get her into the dressage ring, but a near fatal street nail injury has sidelined her, hopefully temporarily.  Thanks to the wonderful surgeons at OSU, she is alive today and once again is the fastest mare in the pasture. While her show career has been placed on hold, her breeding career is just beginning. We look forward to her first foal in March 2009 and many more to follow.

FS Alicia

Alicia is a Breeders Sweepstakes Breeding Entry mare by RD Five Star (Patent X Paluba) X PB Ellina (Mellon X Eurekaa). This is a very athletic mare with both Polish and Russian racing lines.  Although only 14.2 herself, she comes from horses of stature, her sire standing 16 hands and quite a race horse.  She has many notable ancestors in her pedigree, including the great Eukaliptus, Aswan, Patron,  Nazeer, Salon, Witraz, Bandos, and El Paso.  She is due to have the first Annapolis foal Memorial Day weekend.  We can hardly wait!  Ali is a very straight, square, muscular mare with very feminine features and a lovely head and neck.  She has a tremendous hind quarter and broad chest.  We often laugh about her needing a "wide load banner," (and this was before we bred her!)   While she has done some hunter under saddle work and did place in  the only sport horse in hand class that we ever showed her in, we feel that her calling is in the breeding barn and in the working western arena.  She would make a wonderful cow horse.  She is extremely catty and agile.

Minneannapolis

Minneannapolis (affectionately known as "Pretzel") is the only colt by Annapolis+ to date, and we think he is very special.  Always uphill, always hovering above the ground, this colt can really move!  Minneannapolis is out of our mare, Leila IA (Afriendly Fire {Afire Bey V X Flare Bask by Bask Flame} X Legacys Fire {National Legacy by National Fame by Fame VF+ X Melodie of Fire by Le Fire}.  Other notables in this athletic pedigree include Muscat, Bask++ numerous times, Bay El Bey++, Huckleberry Bey++, and the list goes on.... This youngster literally struts his stuff everywhere he goes, yet has the sweet disposition of his sire, Annapolis+.  Sweepstakes Breeding Entry.

Smokin’ Colt 45

Known as “JR” around the farm, Smokin’ Colt 45 is the result of a very special breeding attempt to honor my “horse husband by default,” Jeff, with a horse of his very own.  We searched for a stallion to breed to my Anglo-Arabian mare, Simplyirisistible+ (Abby), for some time before settling on a buckskin and white tovero paint stallion with AWS approval.

Jeff wanted a stocky horse that he could hopefully hunt from, and in spite of the stallion’s 16+ hand, bulky frame, we thought that we would get a suitably “shorter” horse by breeding him to Abby, who stands 15.1.  Jeff was also smitten by the “color” and the arrangements were made.

On April 5, 2000, a very large, very black, very cute, and very whimsical colt arrived just as I was preparing to head off to work.  The dream of a spotted hunting pony vanquished, Jeff set about imprinting his new friend and dubbed him “Smokin’ Colt 45,” recognizing both the date and one of his favorite firearms.

Sire: Conquistador (photo)

Dam: Tiny Lark

Recognizing the need to instill some European Dressage Horse blood into our program, we began our search for a suitable warmblood broodmare.  Gail Hildreth, owner of Sunset Ridge Farms, offered this 17-hand mare, knowing that she would be an asset to our sport horse breeding endeavor.  Frannie's sire, Conquistador, was the very successful, FEI competition and many-times American Holsteiner Horse Association National and Reserve Champion dressage stallion.  He was a 17.1 hand bay, grandson of the world's leading money winning German sport horse stallion, Landgraf I.  He also carried the direct blood of Cor de la Bryere on his dam and sire's sides. We expect great things to come from breeding our superstar Annapolis+ to this well bred mare.

Afirebright

Afriendly Fire X AA Crystal Flame

Afirebright is a very athletic 6-year-old mare.  Standing 14.2 hands, she may be small in stature, but her movement is scopey, catty, and lofty all rolled up into one.  This mare can stop and turn on a dime, is very light in front with an excellent engine driving from behind.  She has been started under saddle.  She has been shown main ring halter, but her calling is in the sport horse disciplines and the breeding shed.  She is currently in foal to Annapolis+, a Sweepstakes and SHNPayback nominated sire, for a June 2009 foal.
